How to Plan a Two-Night Winter Getaway in the Kootenays

Two nights is the perfect winter escape to Radium Hot Springs. Here’s the itinerary we’d give a friend.

Day 1 — Arrive & soak

Drive in via Highway 93, check in from 4 PM, then head straight to the hot springs pools for a sunset soak. Dinner: all-you-can-eat hot pot at Peak Horn, right here at the Chalet (5–9 PM, closed Tuesdays).

Day 2 — Explore

Morning: Kootenay National Park — winter canyon views and bighorn sheep spotting. Afternoon: village shops and a second, longer soak. Evening: cook in your suite’s kitchenette or grill on the terrace.

Day 3 — Slow morning

Sleep in, make breakfast in your kitchenette, one last look at the peaks, check out by 11 AM.

What to book: a Queen Suite for two, or the Family Loft if you’re bringing the crew. Check availability for your dates — winter rates are the year’s friendliest.
